2. Data we process
Website delivery and security
The hosting infrastructure may process technical request data needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information, and error or security logs. The site does not use this information to create advertising profiles.
Consent preference
Your analytics preference, consent version, policy version, and timestamp are stored locally in your browser. This record does not contain your name, email address, or account identifier.
Optional analytics
Only after you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 may process page views, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser information, and interaction events. We do not send search text, email content, or sensitive decision content to analytics.
If you contact us, we process the email address, name if provided, message content, and related correspondence needed to respond.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Website delivery and security: legitimate interests in operating a secure public publication.
- Optional analytics: your consent. Analytics is off by default and refusal does not reduce functionality.
- Email communication: legitimate interests in responding to requests, or steps taken at your request where applicable.
4. Processors, recipients, and transfers
The hosting provider processes technical data necessary to serve and protect the website. If analytics is accepted, Google processes analytics data as a service provider. Google processing may involve international transfers; applicable contractual and transfer safeguards are described in Google's service documentation.
We do not sell personal data and do not use advertising, profiling, social tracking widgets, or remarketing.
5. Retention
- Consent preference: up to 180 days, or until you change it or a policy version requires a new choice.
- GA4 cookies after consent: configured for up to 390 days; browser restrictions may shorten this.
- Analytics event data: controlled in the GA4 property and must be confirmed by the site owner before production launch.
- Hosting logs: retained according to the production hosting and security configuration.
- Email: kept only as long as needed to respond and handle reasonable follow-up, subject to legal recordkeeping needs.
6. Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time as easily as granting it.
Send requests to imesarec@decode-method.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, Dunajska cesta 22, SI-1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
7. Educational content and responsibility
DECODE, this website, the book, White Paper, canvas, appendices, examples, figures, downloads, and related materials are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing in these materials constitutes legal, financial, accounting, regulatory, investment, engineering, technical, safety, compliance, risk management, management, or other professional advice or services. DECODE is a decision-structuring discipline. It does not prescribe technical specifications, validate design adequacy, certify compliance, or establish operational suitability for any particular situation.
You remain solely responsible for all decisions made using or referring to the materials, all actions taken or not taken, independent verification of relevant technical, safety, regulatory, financial, and operational implications, and compliance with applicable laws, standards, certifications, contracts, and professional obligations. Independent qualified advice should be obtained before applying the materials in safety-critical, regulated, high-risk, or capital-intensive contexts.
No guarantee is made that the materials are complete, accurate, reliable, error-free, suitable, or fit for a particular purpose. Use of DECODE does not guarantee improved outcomes, reduced risk, prevention of failure, regulatory compliance, financial benefit, or organizational performance. Every decision involves uncertainty, and the method cannot eliminate risk or unintended consequences.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the author is not liable for loss, damage, disruption, penalty, incident, failure, dispute, reputational harm, or other adverse consequence arising directly or indirectly from the use, misuse, interpretation, modification, or reliance on these materials. Where applicable law does not permit a particular exclusion or limitation, responsibility is limited only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Examples are illustrative composites. They do not represent specific organizations, validated performance claims, or predicted outcomes. Use of the DECODE name or materials does not imply certification, endorsement, partnership, authorization, or compliance recognition unless explicitly confirmed in writing.
8. Changes
We will update this policy when the site's actual processing changes. A material change to analytics or consent handling will invalidate the saved preference and ask you to choose again.
This technical privacy implementation and responsible-use wording do not certify legal compliance or guarantee that every limitation is enforceable in every jurisdiction. Final production processing and policy wording should be reviewed by the site owner or qualified legal counsel.
